How to Design a Website for Search Engines
When creating a website, you should take into consideration the power of Search Engines and how it can help you raise your ranking and popularity. So design one correctly today.
A website is a representative of a person, a product, or a company on the World Wide Web. To be able to reach out to a particular audience, a website’s content should be appropriate. From the content itself even to the advertisements it contains, everything should come together to create an organized and coherent website.
Why does a website have to be organized? Organization when designing a website is key for it to be easily picked up by search engines. When a website’s content is placed strategically, key words used by searchers will be easily be seen on a website.
Key words, when used correctly, can help increase traffic to a website. The first thing a website designer should do to make a website more search engine friendly is to research highly targeted words. The website designer has to use these commonly targeted keywords to pertain to the subject matter of the website. Since these keywords are highly targeted, if used on a website, will increase the chance of its searchability.
After researching on the most commonly targeted keywords, list at least a hundred or so to include on the website. These keywords should be then used to write a paragraph of 250 – 500 words of text for the top of the website. The keywords should be weaved together in an organized way as so not to have the visitors read them wrong or find them strange. The whole paragraph should aim to please search engines and website visitors. Also, avoid using too much flash text – as these flash text are graphics and not actually text, it will not b picked up by search engines.
When designing a website, a web designer should reduce the image size. Too many images or very large images will slow down the loading time of the website, making it difficult for search engines to pick it up.
Additionally, find backward links that will link back to the website and will raise the link popularity. Of course, only choose websites that are compatible with your own, and have a page ranking of 4 or more to do a link exchange. A website designer should make sure that the content of the link affiliate should be relevant to each other so that the page will not look misplaced on the website.
Furthermore, a website designer should use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to implement a clean design throughout the website. This will reduce the time to implement a consistent text (or layout) style and will make it easier to update the whole website if there are changes.
Lastly, a web designer shouldwrite a clean html code. When website editors add unnecessary codes, it can increase the loading time of the web page.
Of course, these tips are only here to help website designers design a more organized web page. When a website is organized, there is a higher chance that it will be picked up search engines. When it does, traffic will increase, and therefore will increase its page ranking.
